Gary Michael Lee, 48, of Greenville, was received into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, March 24th 2016.

Gary was many things in his life but nothing greater than a loving child of God. His love for his wife, sons, and grandchildren was beyond measure. You had only to meet him once and he considered you family. Gary had a heart for service and was always there for family, friends and even strangers anytime he saw a need. He also had a passion for Carolina Hurricanes Hockey, Clemson Football, and supported local teams like the Greenville Swamp Rabbits and the Greenville Drive. He had many talents including being self taught to play the drums and he loved his long term career as a flooring installer that he learned from his father. Gary was also a beloved member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Anita Lee, his son Michiel Shawn Johnson and wife Dawn H. Johnson, his son Steven Gene Johnson and wife Rhonda Johnson: 6 grandsons; Caleb, Titus, Zachary, Cameron, Gene Jr., and Shayne: 5 granddaughters; Hailie, Bella, Hannah, Gracie, and Tara
He is also survived by his mother Dolly Grice, his sisters Kasi Bennett and Shelly Grice, his brothers Ray Lee and Randy Covington Lee, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Gary was predeceased by his father Clifton Lee.

A Homegoing and Celebration of Life service will be held at Washington Avenue Baptist Church, 200 North Washington Avenue Greenville 29611, at 2 pm Monday March 28th. Fellowship with family and friends will follow the service in the café at Washington Avenue Baptist Church.

Flowers may be sent to Washington Avenue Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dragon Boat Upstate Festival by Greenville Health System Cancer Institute under the team Ortec’s Rockin’ Raiders or the name Michiel Johnson.
