Bobby Lee Hughey, after four years of declining health, passed away at home surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, March 6, 2018.

He was born February 4, 1933 in Greenville County , the son of Wofford and Layla Hughey.

He was a military veteran of the Armed Forces, the last 20 years in the Air Force. And retired after 15 years at Carustar in Taylors, SC. He was a member of Victory Chapel Baptist Church. He helped build Friendship Baptist Church in Ocala, FL.

Bobby was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. He enjoyed camping, photography and gatherings with his family. He truly will be missed but his memory will live on in his family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 61 years, Ruth Sellars Hughey, their two daughters Terry Montrose and Sandra Beasley and son Larry Hughey, his son in law Duwane Montrose, his four grandchildren and their spouses; Jeremy Montrose, Jennifer Hunsucker (Jason), Destiny Beasley, and Lee Hughey (Mandy), 9 great-grandchildren; Garrett, Tyler, Jacob, Josie, Kaylynne, Ashton, James, Latoya and Brandon, two great-great-grandchildren; Julian and Ariah, two sisters; Doris Talley and Jean Forrester Door, a sister-in-law Nancy Hughey, brother-in-law Henry Door, and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; JD, Claude, Dwight, Glenn, Jack, and Pat Hughey, and his sister Wilma Hughey.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Victory Chapel Baptist Church at 9 S Pine Lake Circle at 2:00 pm with a Memorial Service to follow at 2:30 pm.

Memorials may be made to Victory Chapel Baptist Church building fund.
