Amparo E.  Hernandez
Amparo E. Hernandez, 83, of El Paso, Texas, passed into the loving arms of the Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, October 23, 2016.

She was born on June 20, 1933 in Juarez, Mexico to the late Consuelo Valle and Jose Isabell Estrada.

Amparo is survived by her children, Sandra Luz Hecht, Jose Roberto Hernandez, Marie Rabus, Rosemary Mize, and Jose Guadalupe Hernandez; her ten grandchildren; and her fifteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Guadalupe Hernandez; her son, Martin Jose Hernandez; her sister, Carmen Lucero; and her son-in-law, Donald D. Mize.

Amparo was a great role model, mentor, and Mother. She was widowed at a young age and left to raise five children, ages six through sixteen. She worked numerous jobs, sometimes concurrently, to care for her family. She was awared the Employee of the Year while working at the Texas Tech University Health Science Center in El Paso, Texas.

We are all grateful for the life lessons and guidance our mother gave us.

The Visitation and Rosary Service will be held on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 2:00 pm at The Palmetto Mortuary.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 9:00 am at Prince of Peace Catholic Church.

Mrs. Hernandez's cremated remains will be inurned at Graceland East Memorial Park at a later date.
