Obituary for Samuel Childress Curry

Samuel Childress  Curry
Samuel Childress Curry, 93, of Laurens and husband of Doris Curry passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017. He was born in Laurens, SC, to the late Nell and David P. Curry.

He was a US Navy Veteran and served in WWII. He was employed by Laurens Glass Works for 40 years. He was a member of Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church where he was a deacon and elder emeritus. He was a great husband and father and a friend to everyone he met.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his three children, five grand children and one great grandchild, Tom Curry and wife Sara of Rock Hill and son Stewart, Shay Jenkins and husband Kent of Honea Path and sons Logan and Andrew, his wife Dana and son Lyon, and Pat Gooding and husband Ron of Greenville and sons Sam and Jack. He is also survived by his brother James Albert (Ab) Curry, (Betty Jo), and his two sisters Martha Graydon and Nell Wix and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, David Pierce Curry, Jr.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, February 25, at Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church, Laurens SC. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall after the service until 1:00.
