Alan Leroy Davis, 75, of Mauldin, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 21, 2017 surrounded by his family.

Born in Emporia, Kansas on December 18, 1941 to the late Oscar and Marjorie Ellis Davis. Alan moved to Rockford, Illinois at the age of nine, where he spent his childhood and graduated from St. Thomas Catholic High School, graduating as part of the Class of 1959.

He served with the US Air Force from July 1959 to June 1965.

Alan married his wife, Virginia Kolesky on December 7, 1963 and had three awesome children. He loved bowling, playing cards, car racing, billiards, and dancing. Alan was a loving husband and father.

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Virginia Kolesky Davis, of 53 years; his daughter, Michelle Davis Phillips; and two sons, Mike Davis and his wife Misty, and Brett Davis; his sister, Judy Bock and her husband Bob; his four grandchildren; his four great-grandchildren; and his extended family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his second wife's step-mother, Jenny (Choppi) Davis; his sister, Rita Cochran; and his nephew, John Bock.
