The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Charles Egen can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Charles John  Egen
Charles John Egen (Chip) passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving children Rachael Egen and William Egen, his loving soul mate Debbie Stitt, his sisters Carole Egen, Lauren Flowe (David), Adrian Burnette (Tom), his nieces and nephew; Jaime, Dana, Hannah, and Jonathan plus his great-nieces and nephews. Also by his bedside was his favorite cousin Diana Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Joan Egen.

Chip had a heart full of love for his family and friends. He provided them with a lot of laughter and never met a stranger. He enjoyed playing many sports all through his life like baseball, softball, golf and bowling. Chip loved all things related to sports including watching The Clemson Tigers, NASCAR, the Carolina Panthers and the Charlotte Hornets. He appreciated nature and enjoyed doing anything outdoors like going to the beach, camping, scuba diving, caving, and going sledding with his children.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 6:00 pm at Palmetto Mortuary at 1017 Mauldin Road, Greenville, SC with a Celebration of Life to follow at 7:00 pm.

An additional celebration of Life will be held at St. Andrews Church, 1901 Archdale Drive, Charlotte, NC 28210 on May 30, 2018 at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to The Greenville Humane Society at 305 Airport Rd, Greenville, SC 29607 or to Open Arms Hospice at 1836 W. Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680
