Obituary for John Howard Kingsbury

John Howard  Kingsbury
John Howard Kingsbury, age 69, died peacefully on May 17, 2018. after a short illness from a glioblastoma.

John was born in Lanesboro, Minnesota. He grew up in Corwith, Iowa and later moved to Harmony Minnesota. He grew up in the Lutheran Faith and loved teaching Sunday School.

Before graduating from high school John joined the U.S. Navy Reserves. He earned the rank of E-5 as a photographers mate. John processed film for NASA and printed photo mosaics for aerial reconnaissance. John served his active duty in Sigonella, Sicily.

In 1968 he married LuAnn Hoopman. They were blessed with two children, Matthew and Hillary.

John, graduated from Winona State University with an english major and a political science minor. He received his Juris Doctorate from William Mitchell College of Law in 1978.
John went on to practice law in St. Paul Minnesota, Peterson Minnesota, Raleigh North Carolina, and Greenville South Carolina. During his years away from private practice, John sold law libraries for West Publishing Company, and started a writing career. He has been published in the Greenville Magazine, and the South Carolina Law Journal. John always had a passion for photography. He enjoyed collecting old cameras and technical manuals. Since retiring John continued to write and was an avid facebook poster and a devoted Minnesota Vikings fan. John had a great sense of humor and loved to share political jokes.

John is survived by his wife, LuAnn, his son Matthew, and his daughter Hillary of Taylors, SC.
Three Brothers: Charles of Trempealeau, Wisconsin. Michael of St Paul, Minnesota, Richard, of Winona Minnesota and one sister Caroline Anfinson of Peterson, Minnesota
Two Nieces, three Nephews, and two great Nieces.

He was preceded in death by one infant sister, his parents, Alvin and Evalyn Kingsbury and a sister in law, Karen Kingsbury.
