Obituary for Donna Bryson Gibbs

Donna June Bryson Gibbs, Born December 2, 1962, first born child of William Kenneth (Ken) Bryson and Peggy June Upton Bryson.
She was baptized as a baby at Bethel Methodist Church where her daddy’s family had attended for years.

On June 17, 2018, she went to be with the Lord after battling many different sicknesses for years. We were blessed with all of the years God allowed us to spend with her and the memories we made. She lived through all of her family and children. If they were around, that was when she was at her happiest. No matter how bad she felt, when she knew she had plans with her family, none of that mattered and she took all the energy she had to be sure she spent that time with them.

She had so many people that loved and cared for her:
Her oldest child, her “brown eyed girl”, Jennifer Gibbs.
Her son, her “left hand man” as she called him, Corey Gibbs.
Her husband and high school sweetheart, Joe Gibbs, who is the survivor of 3 strokes and someone the Lord has also saved many times. They were married for 37 years.

She also has her sister Kim Bailey who has been through all of the hardships in life with Donna, the passing of their mother June Bryson and then most recently, the passing of their father Ken Bryson.

Today, we choose not to mourn and be sad that Donna is no longer on this Earth, but feel relieved that she is living her best life reunited with her parents who she missed every day of her life. We are thankful that she no longer has to struggle with her breathing and other illnesses and that she is at peace being surrounded by all the loved ones that passed before her.

Her home going service will be held at Palmetto Mortuary on Saturday June 23.
Visitation will begin at 1pm followed by the service at 2pm.

After the service, the burial will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest next to her precious family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to her family directly or via a GoFundMe setup in her honor. https://www.gofundme.com/help-my-mother-rest-in-peace
