Obituary for Patricia Grant Rhoden (Sullivan)

Patricia Grant Sullivan Rhoden died unexpectedly on June 23, 2018.

She was born on her family farm in Salem, South Carolina, the daughter of Doctor Herbert Grant and Inez Nations Grant. She attended Anderson College from 1961 to 1962 where she played basketball. Thereafter, she was trained as a pharmacy technician and worked at Oconee Memorial Hospital. After remaining in the medical field for years, she returned to her love of athletics and worked passionately for Clemson University until her retirement.

Pat was a loving and gracious person who often helped those in need. She especially loved her family and supported them no matter what the challenge of life.

She is survived by her son, Michael R. Sullivan of Hendersonville, North Carolina, and his wife Page Poston Sullivan, as well as her grandchildren, Mary Mattison Sullivan and John Michael Matthews Sullivan. She is also survived by her second husband, Kenneth Lamar Rhoden, of the home, and his five children, sixteen grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is planned for 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church, Greenville, under the direction of The Reverend Dr. Richard Gibbons. Her ashes will be interred at a later date.
