Obituary for Marianne Iozzino

Marianne  Iozzino
Marianne Iozzino, 60, of Easley, SC, passed away, on November 25, 2018, quietly and peacefully, she was at her home of 31 years with her loving husband Gene Iozzino at her side.
Marianne was born September 20, 1958 in Quincy, Ma., the daughter of Anthony Santo Leo and Mary O’Rourke Leo. Marianne started school at St. Francis of Assisi, which was also her home church. After graduating from St. Francis, she went to Braintree High School. Marianne then earned a degree as a psychology major at Bridgewater State Collage. Then it was off to the University of South Florida, Tampa, where she earned her masters degree in Gerontology. USF is where Marianne met Gene, fell in love and started their life in Clearwater, Fl. Marianne worked as a Medical Social Worker in St. Pete, Fl. until the family moved to Easley, SC in the late 1980’s. Marianne stayed home with the kids until they were school age and then started her career as a Medical Social Worker. She first started working at Interim Healthcare, then working at Regency Hospital (prn), and finally working for US Renal Care helping dialysis patients. Some of Marianne’s happiest days were when she helped some of her patients get kidney transplants.
She received such peace and joy from being near the ocean, swimming, or walking on the beach. Marianne was an artist who created many beautiful paintings, sculptures, stained glass, and much more. She also loved yoga, step, and any other exercise class she could get into. Marianne was a special, kind, loving, smart person, she will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know her.
Survivors include: Parents: Anthony and Mary Leo; Husband: Gene Iozzino; Children: Geno (Heather) Iozzino, Alysha Iozzino (Shaq Anthony), Danielle Iozzino; Grandchildren: Carson and Beckham; Siblings: Anthony (Tony) Leo; Patty Leo; John Leo. Many other loving family members, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Marianne’s service will be held on Friday December 14, 2018 at 6pm, at St Luke’s Catholic Church (Powdersville). Immediately following the service there will be a celebration of Marianne’s life in the Annunciation Hall where heavy hors d’ oeuvres will be served. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Marianne Iozzino’s GoFundMe page for the Lazarex Cancer Foundation.
