Born January 15, 1937 – Passed on, this Good Friday, March 30, 2018 into the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Johnny was 81 years old.
He was one of seven children, born at home to Horace Jefferson and Ada Marie Lambert of Middlesboro, Kentucky. He had no surviving siblings.
When Johnny was a child he was affectionately nicknamed “Grinnish” as he always greeted people with a big smile. He wore this smile throughout his life. As a young man Johnny moved to Ypsilanti, Michigan where he met and later married Maralynn Needham, a nurse, formerly of Lincoln Park, Michigan. Together they had three daughters.
His life career was in security, which he began with the University of Michigan in 1972 lasting until 1981, when he moved his family to South Carolina. He continued his career in corporate security with the Digital Corporation until he retired in 1994.
Johnny enjoyed Country music and singing, and had a truly beautiful voice. He and his wife reared their children in Christ. He enjoyed Bible study and Christian programs. He loved drives in the country and took day trips to local destination spots, as time well spent with family. He enjoyed throwing a frisbee or baseball with his daughters as they grew up. He also enjoyed old movies, sports, especially University of Michigan football and Detroit Tigers baseball.
Johnny was a man of good taste and style. He had a gentle spirit and a pleasantness that blessed many. He loved the preciousness of babies and children. He took time to interact with them and they loved his attention.
He is survived by his wife Maralynn Lambert, of Easley, SC. His three daughters, seven grand-children and five great-grandchildren, listed below. He also leaves behind many adoring extended family members and friends.

Certainly Johnny is enjoying Jesus in fullness. He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by all of us here but we couldn’t be more happy for him now.
