Obituary for Alice B. Pearce

Alice Utincie Blake Pearce, 84, of Belton died Thursday, August 16.

Beloved mother, sister and friend, she is survived by her beloved daughter Ann Blake Pearce Harvell, two grandchildren Riley (Erin) and Ellison and four great grandchildren, Olin, Adger, Penni and de Veaux. She is also survived by her sister Ann Blake Furr (Kim) and brother Lewis Blake III (Cheryl) and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased in death by her parents, Alice Horton Blake and Lewis de Veaux Blake, Jr. She was also predeceased in death by two twin daughters.

She grew up in the Belton Presbyterian Church where she was an active member of the Women of the Church, served senior citizens lunches and taught the youth group. She was a graduate of Furman University, and taught school on Sullivans Island and Marshall Primary in Belton. She enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels for many years. She was a leader in the brownies and girl scouts and enjoyed many years with her bridge and lunch friends. She was an avid reader, dog lover and bird watcher.
