Obituary for William E Parker Jr.

William Everette "Bill" Parker, Jr., age 62, husband of 26 years to Shirley D'Amore Parker, of Greenville, SC, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Open Arms Hospice after a long, difficult battle with multiple myeloma.

Mr. Parker was born in Greenville, SC on June 25, 1956. He was the son of the late William E. Parker Sr., and the late Martha Hunter Parker.

Bill is survived by his sister, Lynda Gilstrap; his extended Greenville family, Hunter, Beth, Wake, and Fiona Freeman; his brother-in-law Joseph Damore (Julie) and Michael D'Amore, and his sister-in-law Carol Nestor (Bob); and several nieces and nephews. Bill was also blessed to have the compassionate support of many other friends and family members, especially Cheryl Evans and the Lokey Family.

Bill was a graduate of Greenville Technical College and Tri-County Technical College and was employed by Andy Oxy Company Inc. for the last eight years as branch manager. Bill was an avid tennis player and enjoyed golf. He also enjoyed singing karaoke with family and friends.

The Memorial Service will be held at St. Anthony's Church at 307 Gower Street in Greenville on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 2:00 pm. There will be a receiving of friends after the service, until 3:30 pm, at the same location.

Bill's family is grateful to the GHS Cancer Institute and Open Arms Hospice doctors and staff for the wonderful care that he received during his illness. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. John Bruch. They also wish to express heartfelt gratitude for the cards, texts, calls, emails, food, visits, and offers of support and prayers over the past 30 months.
