Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Lee Patterson can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Lee Roy Patterson Sr.

Lee went to be with the Lord and our mother, Jane Haskett Patterson, on November 28 after several years of declining health. He was taken in his sleep and will suffer no more.

Lee was born in Rosman, NC on December 25, 1930. He was the son of the late Roland and Nina Galloway Patterson. He is survived by two brothers and three sisters, Jay Patterson, Brackett Patterson, Edna Talley, Carol Ayers, and Diane Patterson all of Pickens. He was predeceased by a sister, Gayle Bennett also from Pickens.

He is survived by three sons, Roy (Trisha), Ronnie, Robert (Robin) and a special grandson, Lee III (Heather), two other grandchildren, Tuesday and Blake and a step grand daughter Denise. He also has three wonderful great grandchildren.

He served in the Navy during the Korean conflict. He retired from Pickens County after 23 years as the animal control officer. He was very proud of the years he spent coaching little league baseball and football in the mid 60's to mid 70's. He was a good influence to quite a few young men in the Pickens area.

Services will be held on Sunday, December 2, at Holly Springs Baptist Church in Pickens. Visitation is from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. Funeral is at 2:00 pm with burial in the church cemetery.
