Obituary for Rhata Dixon

Rhata Cary Dixon went home to be with her Lord on December 31, 2018.

She is survived by sons, Alex Royden Chambers and Hunter Sullivan Chambers; a daughter, Scarlett Elizabeth Chambers; her parents, J. Kent and Amy Dixon; her sister, Tiffany Elizabeth Dixon Upp (James)

Rhata attended Anderson University, Southern Wesleyan University and some studies at Furman University. She was an athlete, a certified archer, and loved to fish and camp. She was a member of the marching band, lettered in track and was a cheerleader from Elementary School through college. She was also a silver award recipient in Girls Scouts. She loved her family and her adopted family. She had a special relationship with animals, so much so that even bees would walk up her arms and never sting her. She never let anyone go hungry, and would give you the shirt off her back. Rhata and her grandmother Murdock had green thumbs, mom could grow plastic plants while Rhata would harvest the seeds to plant the following year.

Psalm 126:6 "He who goes out weeping bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him."

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 2:00 pm with a Memorial Service to follow at 3:00 pm at Palmetto Mortuary at 1017 Mauldin Road, Greenville, SC 29607.

In lieu of flowers or meals, please bring non perishable food items to the Memorial Service for donation.
