Obituary for Jimmy Ray Worthy
Jimmy Ray Wothy "Pop", 79, of Greenville, entered into eternal peace on Thursday, February 7, 2019.
He is survived by his wife Carolinda Meeks Worthy; his sons, Timothy Ray Worthy of Fleming Island, Florida; his step sons, Duane Duncan of Greenville, Bradley Duncan of Greenville and Scott Duncan of Senecca; his daughter, Debbie Worthy of Middleburt, Florida; his sister Rachel Steen; his ten grandchildren and his six great grandchildren.
Jimmy was an Airforce Veteran, an avid golfer and a member of Daybreak Community Church. He retired from Olin Mills then began working with Avis. He was an adoring and loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He will be remembered for his joke telling and his love for his family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, William Worthy; and his parents, Nellie Vinson Worthy and William Worthy.
The family would like to give a special thank you to St. Francis Hospice and oncology staff.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, February 17, 2019 at
Day Break Community Church,
Hillcrest Street, Greenville, South Carolina. The visitation will be from 1:30pm - 2:00pm with the funeral services following at 3:00pm.
