James (Jimmy) Earl Black, 69, of Greenville was called home on Saturday, March 2, 2019.
To send flowers in memory of James E. Black, please visit our Heartfelt Sympathies Store.
Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Robert and Lois Black.
He is survived by his sons, J.R. Black and Scott Cordell; his daughter, Kelli Courtney; his sister, Sandra Black; and his special friends, Jeff "Mo Dean" Chastain and his very best friend Tony Taylor.
James was a hard working, straight shooter who loved his friends, his family, and his beloved dogs Tara and Koda Joe. He loved late night ice cream, chili cheeseburgers, and we fully expect the makers of Pall Mall cigarettes to go out of business without him. He was a staunch advocate for the legalization of marijuana, and did not mind an occasional beer. He was a good friend and a good neighbor.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Johnny Black and Terry Norton.
A Memorial Service will be held on March 11, 2019 at 4:00 pm at Crane Avenue (off Blue Ridge Drive next to City View Baptist. Call Sandra for details.
