Obituary for Betty Sylvine Davis (Bridges)
Betty Bridges Davis was the beloved wife of the late Carl Davis. She died on Sunday, June 9, 2019. She was born in Greenvillle, SC to her late parents Henry E. Bridges and Zelma Simpson Bridges.
She retired after 25 years from Greenvillle County Schools. She also was the Custodian at Faith Baptist Church for fifty years. She was a Sunday School Teacher and she was involved in Bible School.
Betty helped start Faith Baptist Church fifty seven years ago in a little white store building. She went door to door inviting people to come to church. She loved gardening and working outside.
God came first in her life, then her family and church.
Betty is survived by two daughters; Juanita Ware and Gwen Hull, son Mitchell Davis; two brothers; Randolph Bridges and Jerry Bridges
three sisters; Lillie Rose Knappen, Brenda Harrison and Judy Williamson. She loved her four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Betty was predeceased by her son Cothran Davis, and two brothers, Henry Earl Bridges and Donald Bridges.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at noon at Faith Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Graceland East Memorial Park. The family will be at the home of Judy Williamson.
